Sarah Langrill Sarah Langrill was the first wife of Charles Willoughby. They were married in Ireland at the Kilcommon parish church, in Co. Wicklow, located in the village of Tilaheany, on the 30th of January, 1849. Marriage Certificates indicates that Charles was the son of John Willoughby, of Kilavaney, a nearby hamlet, and Sarah was the daughter of William Langrill, Cappagh (parish of Aughrim, Co. Wexford) (IGI Batch No.: M701999). Witnesses: John Langrell, Isaac Langrell (an uncle). Sarah was mother of the older Willoughby children, including Mary and Sarah. She died in the late 1850's at Rockwood, Ontario (likely on the farm in Eramosa Township) and was buried at Rockwood Cemetery. Sarah Langrill was the daughter of William Langrill and Sarah Stephenson (?) of Cappagh Hill, Co., Aughrim, Co. Wicklow.. The Langrill family farmed at Cappagh, in the parish of Aughrim, Co. Wexford in Ireland. The children of Charles and Sarah Willoughby were all born at the farm on Concession 6, Eramosa Twp., near Rockwood, Ontario.
On the same day of the marriage of Sarah Langrill to Charles Willoughby (30 January 1849), Isaac Langrill married Ann Lawrance. (IGI Batch: 702011). Isaac was Sarah's cousin, son of Isaac Langrell who witnessesd her marriage to Charles Willoughby. In Co. Wexford (specific location?), there are two headstones, side by side, a) right and b) left:
Sarah Langrill was related (cousin?) to Dr. Walter Francis Langrill (b 1869, Haldiman Co., ON) and his father Dr. John A. Langrill, who served as Chief Medical (Medical Superintendent) officers in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada at and around the turn of the century (1900). Father of John A. Langrill was Francis Langrill (born in Ireland, ca 1799) who died 21 June 1890, York Co., ON. Francis may have been the brother of William Langrill, and Sarah (Langrill) Willoughby's father.
