Stroud Gloucestershire
Stroud (or 'Stroud Water') was the birthplace of Ellen May Townsend, wife of William Webb-King, and mother of my mother's maternal grandfather, Frank King. Stroud Water may refer to a wider location, perhaps located somewhere along the Stroud Water canal, or the local water 'basis' - not far from the actual town of Stroud, in the 'midlands' of England.
Minchinhampton parish is very near here. Ellen May was born in this parish and was married here to her first husband, James Hobbs.
