Eric Bungay Clark
Eric Bungay Clark Erica Clark Kenny's father was Eric Bungay Clark, husband of Mary Clark (nee Evoy). He was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, 29 October 1945, the son of Charles William Clarke and Vivienne Bungay. Eric had two brothers and five sisters. His career was largely spent in working on the ferries that transported vehicles and passengers between North Sydney and Newfoundland. Erica remembers that her father, on several occasions, took her and her older sister, Lana, back and forth on the ferry, just for the adventure of it. Eric worked with the ferry services until he became ill and the family moved to Riverview (nr Moncton), New Brunswick. Subsequently, they lived in several homes in Riverview (including streets such as Lawson and Buckingham). Eric Clark married Mary Evoy in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Mary was born in North Sydney, Nova Scotia - a descendant of the Evoys of Newfoundland. She studied nursing at the hospital in North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and is now Head Nurse in the Operating Room of The Moncton Hospital, Moncton New Brunswick. The children of Eric and Mary are: Mary Jane (Mrs. David Cummins), Erica (Mrs. Aaron Kenny), Lana (Mrs. Troy Allen) and Lori Lynn (Mrs. Jason Richard).
A Roman Catholic in attending to and expressing his Christian faith, Eric was active in his church, The Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Riverview, NB. He helped to give leadership, with Mary, in the congregation's Alpha programe. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Eric Bungay Clark was called into the Lord's Eternal Presence, on September 16, 2005. He was buried on the 21st of September, 2005 at the Alderwood Cemetery, Riverview, New Brunswick, just a few miles along the river from his home. Mary continues to live on Sussex Street, Riverview, New Brunswick. |
