Rebecca Gatenby
Rebecca Gatenby, daughter of Jonathan Gatenby and Ann Wright, was born 6 November, 1846 in Haverton Hill, Middlesbrough, North Riding of Yorkshire. She was christened on the 24th of November, 1846 at Billingham, Durham. She died in December of 1900 in Co. Durham, NRY. She married (1) James Denny on the 24th of December, 1864 in Holy Trinity Church, Stockton, Co. Durham. He was the son of John Denny and was born in 1830 in Walworth, Middlesex. he died between 1867 and 1871. James Denny was a mariner.
She married (2) James Cooper on the 2nd of January, 1872 in the Wesleyan Methodist church in Middlesbrough. Born in 1840 in Richmond, North Yorkshire, he was the son of Francis Cooper.

1. Isobel Cooper, born in 1874, Middlesbrough, NRY; died 6th of August, 1949 at Middlesbrough and is buried in the Linthorpe Cemetery. She married (1) Henry Whitfield at Middlesbrough in 1894. He was born in 1868 at Haverton Hill, Billingham, Durham and died at Middlesbrough in December of 1900. He ran for the docor when Rebecca was ill, caught pneumonia and died.
Isobel married (2) Thomas Picot at Middlesbrough on 24th of December, 1904. He was born in 1867 at Southampton, Hants. She was a dressmaker. In 1904 her residence was 14 Holly Street, Middlesbrough.
2. Mary Ann Denny was born in 1866 in Middlesbrough, NRY. She married Henry Hogget in 1895 at Middlesbrough. He was born in 1870 in Middlesbrough. In 1901 census she was living at 37-38 High Street, Loftus, NRY. She was a teacher. Henry Hogget was a solicitor.
3. John Denny was born in 1868 in Middlesbrough. He married Annie E. Tate who was born in Burley, Leeds in 1866. In the 1901 census John is living at 15 Central Drive, Blackpool.
