John Gatenby
John Gatenby, son of Thomas Gatenby and Hannah Noble, was born the 18th of October, 1846 in Eskdale cum Ugglebarnby, NRY; christened on the 18th of October, 1846. He married Mary A. Gamesby in December of 1871 in Whitby. She was the daughter of George Gamesby and Ann his wife. She was born at Flyingdale, NRY, in 1850. John was a rollyman by profession. In the 1901 census they are living at 18 Russell Street, Middlesbrough.

8. William Marley Gatenby, born first of April, 1885, Middlesbrough, NRY; married Margaret June Dawson on the 27th of July, 1910. She was born on the first of October, 1883, Middlesbrough, NRY and died in Decemb er of 1949 at Sheffield. William died in April, 1927 at Ecclesall. He was a baker.
