John Brock (c. 1845)

John Brock, son of Alexander Brock (b. 1822) was christened 23 December, 1845 at Barony parish church, Lanark County, Glasgow, Scotland. His wife, Jane Riddell, was christened at the High Church in Glasgow, 3 October, 1855. They were the parents of Andrew Brock (c. 2 October, 1888). Andrew had a twin brother, whose name is unknown at present. Jane Riddell's parents were Richard Riddell and Rachel Sinclair. John moved to California where he became a well-known ornithologist. At one time he was the only licensed person in the United States to band migratory birds. He was older than the twins.
