Chancey Benjamin Weese

Chancy Benjamin Weese was born 16 October 1832 (or 11 Nov 1832), Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward Co., ON. He was baptized Dec 6, 1838, St. Thomas Anglican Church, Ameliasburgh, by Rev. Robt McDowell (baptism 752).

He was an innkeeper. 13 May 1853, "Chauncy B. Weese, Trenton, announces the opening of Weese's Hotel at the corners of Dundas and Centre Streets 9the house formerly owned by John V. Murphy, esq.).

Chauncey B. Weese was the son of James Henry Weese (b. 2/12/1810) and Sarah ?

James had seven children by Sarah ? and then married Julia Ann Gerow (d/o Daniel Gerow and Mary Polly Jones) and had two more children). He died in 1913.

Chancey (or Chauncey) married Jemima L. Way (b Ameliasburg, Prince Edward Co., ON, 17 May 1836) in Rossmore, ON, about 1854. She died in 1920, Ameliasburgh, ON. Their children were:

At first I thought that Chaucey Benjamin Weese who married Jemima Way was the son of John Weese (b 1800) and Prudence Roblin (1804 - 1868). The 1901 Census lists him as a Methodist who was a 'stonemason' by occupation.
