The Will of Agnes Barber (1561 - d. 1638), wife of Simon Barber (1562 - 1637)
Agnes, widow of Simon Barber, was buried 15 July, 1638, 10 months after her husband. Her will was dated 22 May, 1638. The land called Millmount was left to her son, John, to be sold for the payment of debts, legacies, etc.
The land in Sancroft (St. Cross Southelmham) - or the 120 pounds to be paid in lieu by the executors of John Pigeon, deceased - was also to go to ther son John. The messuage called 'Butchers' were Agnes lived went (as under the terms of her husband Simon's will) to her son John.
In addition, Agnes left household furniture, bedding, etc., which came to her under her late husband's Will, to the various children who were, at the time, making use of it. She also left cash to the poor of Fressingfield.
Her son, John, was appointed sole executor of the Will.
