The Parish House, Cratfield

In this house, immediately to the west of St. Mary's parish church, Cratfield, lived William Barber (b. 1873), his wife Elizabeth Moore Barber, and their family. William was the parish clerk in the early 1830's. Robert Barber (b. 1814), who came to Canada in 1836, may have been living here and working for Mr. Churchyard, a short distance away, at the time of his arrest in the Bulcamp Work House riot, of December, 1835.
