The Aldous Family

The Aldous family intersects with the Barber and Clutton families at various places and times. For instance, Robert Barber (1516 - 1558), the son of James Barber (1486) and Alice, married Agnes Aldous (ca 1552 - 1558) about 1541 in Fressingfield. She was the daughter of Robert Aldous (1479 - 1559) and Elizabeth (b. about 1459 - 1575).
More directly, for the purposes of my family tree, is the Clutton connection, as follows: Mary Clutton (1707 - 1784) who married Robert Barber (1704 - 1771) was the daughter of William Clutton (1675 - 1732) and Martha Aldous (1667 - 1747), who were married 3 October, 1700, in Fressingfield.
Martha Aldous, born 1667 in Fressingfield, was christened in Earl Soham, 19 March, 1670. She died in 1747 and was buried 6 February, 1747. She was the daughter of Stephen Aldous (c. 26 February, 1636, Fressingfield - buried: 25 January, 1721, Fressingfield) and Ursula Wyard (born 1640/41, Earl Soham - buried: 29 January, 1701, Fressingfield, who were married around 1661 in Fressingfield.
Martha (b. 1667) was one of 10 children of Stephen Aldous and Ursula Wyard. The others were:

In one of the older instances of the name in Fressingfield, Suffolk, Peter Aldous, of that village, was assessed for taxation purposes in 1327.
