John Danby - son of John Danby (b. 1730) and Martha Lowe (b. ca 1722) - was born in 1761 at St. Margaret's Southelmham and died 10 March, 1844 in the same parish. He married Martha Strange 22 October, 1793 at St. Margaret's. In the 1841 Census he is 80 years old. Other Danbys also listed at the same residence are: Martha 70, James 48, Isaac 22, Emily 30 and Marria 25. In the 1790 Suffolk poll, John Danby voted for Sir Gerard Wm. Vanneck, Bart. (implying that he was eligible by owning freehold land and having a certain income.)

Martha (Strange) Danby was born 13 May, 1770, at St. Margaret's Southelmham and was christened at All Saints, Southelmham (date unknown). She died 15 November, 1850, at St. Margaret's.

1. John Danby - born 22 June, 1794, St. Margaret's Southelmham; married Maria Ann Newson (b. abt 1811) 3 January, 1839, St. Margaret's Southelmham. Their children were: Rachel (b. abt 1840), Martha Matilda (b. 5 January, 1840) and John William (born 24 September, 1843 - married Theodosa Unknown of Spexhall, Suffolk)

2. James Danby - born 10 July, 1796, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 20 August, 1861, St. Margaret's Southelmham; married Maria (b. abt 1826).

3. Martha Danby - born 18 March, 1798, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 8 May, 1857, St. Margaret's Southelmham. She was a housekeeper.

4. Daniel Danby - born 4 May, 1800, St. Margaret's Southelmham; married Kezia Alp (b. 1804) 10 October, 1836, St. Margaret's Southelmham. Their son was John Gibbon Danby.

5. Rachel Danby - born 28 February, 1802, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 7 August, 1802, St. Margaret's Southelmham

6. Rachel Danby - born 19 October, 1804, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 21 October, 1804, St. Margaret's Southelmham

7. Emily Danby - born 18 January, 1807; christened 9 January 1807, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 7 April, 1885, St. Margaret's Southelmham

8. Susannah Danby - born 11 July, 1810, St. Margaret's Southelmham; died 1894, Earlham, Norfolk; buried: Metfield, Suffolk. on 2nd November, 1843, at St. Margaret's Southelmham, Susannah married William Keable (b. St. James Southelmham in 1809; died 17 April, 1866, Redenhall, Suffolk; buried in Metfield, Suffolk). They had a son, William (b. 1850, Metfield - died 1917, Earlham, Norfolk) who married (1878, Barsham) Agnes Ethel Meen (b. 1860 All Saints Southelmham - died 1929, Earlham, Norfolk.

Will of William Keable (1809 - 1866): "Wm. late of Redenhall (formerly Metfield) & b. St. James Southelmham in 1809, Norfolk, farmer. Proved @ Norwich by oaths of Susannah Keable (nee Danby), widow & relict of deceased, George Rackham, farmer of Bedingham, farmer, & George White of Redenhall, farmer. Effects under 1,500 pounds."
