William Frost

William Frost was the husband of Mary Anne King. She was the mother of William Webb-King, whose natural father was William Webb.

William Frost was born in 1819 (christened at Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, 30th of May, 1819). He was a bootmaker and with his wife worked on the Essendon Place estate, owned by Charles Dimsdale. William and Mary Anne were married in the Parish Church of Marylebone, 17th of July 1848. Their residences are given as 'Marylebone.'

In the 1851 Herts Census, the family is shown as living at 'Laundry Cottage,' Essendon.

William seems to have been proficient in a number of jobs as he is shown also employed at Essendon Place (at the time of their marriage) as a boot and shoe-maker. He is named as a 'cordwainer' in the funeral notice of his son, Charles (Wm is 'of Musley Hill, Ware').

The family later moved to Ware, Hertfordshire where Mary Ann died 1st of June, 1888 and William Frost died in March of 1895 - I assume at Musley Hill, Ware.

The children of William Frost and Mary Anne King were:

1. William Henry Frost - born in 1849 - Essendon, Herts - buried at Ware, Herts, 25 March, 1870. He remained unmarried.

2. Frederick Frost - born in 1852 - Essendon, Herts - died 1922; married 1. Martha Anne Chapman and 2. Dorcus Young
