James Smith
James Smith (son of Nicholas Smith and Jane Unknown) was born in 1615 and died 27 June, 1684. He is buried in the old graveyard, Newport, IOW. He married Mary Lidger 20 November, 1638, Newport, IOW. She was born about 1618 and was also buried in the old graveyard, Newport, on 18 August, 1686.
Their children were:
1. Nicholas Smith - c. 28 August, 1641, IOW - buried 26 September, 1722, at N. (Newport?), IOW; married Frances Knight, 5 August, 1670, Brading, IOW
2. James Smith - c. 10 March, 1643/4, IOW
3. Mary Smith - married (Unknown) Walker
4. Elizabeth Smith - married John Peddler in 1665.
5. Jane Smith - married John Wight in 1675/6.
